How to Check Your Selection Status

The 2nd merit list is published in PDF format, organized by state/postal circle. Follow these steps to check your result.

  1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

  2. Navigate to Shortlisted Candidates: On the homepage, look for the "Candidate's Corner" and click on "Shortlisted Candidates (Schedule 1, January 2026)."

  3. Select Your Circle: Choose your respective state (e.g., Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra).

  4. Download List-II: Click on the link titled "Supplementary List-II."

  5. Search Your ID: Open the PDF and use Ctrl + F to search for your 7-digit registration number.

  6. Verify DV Details: If your name is on the list, the PDF will also mention the Division Office where you must report for Document Verification (DV).

Note: Merit lists for certain circles (including Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal) have been withheld in some regions due to the Model Code of Conduct. Candidates in these circles should check the portal regularly for updates.

The Next Step: Document Verification (DV)

Shortlisted candidates must report to their allotted divisional office by April 27, 2026. Failure to appear by this deadline will lead to the immediate cancellation of your candidature.

Required Documents (Originals + 2 sets of photocopies):

  • 10th Class Marksheet/Certificate: For date of birth and mark verification.

  • Identity Proof: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID.

  • Caste Certificate: Required for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates.

  • Medical Certificate: Issued by a competent medical authority.

  • PWD Certificate: If applicable.

  • Passport Size Photos: At least 2–4 recent photographs.

Expected Cut-Off and Future Lists

The cut-off for the second list remains high, often hovering between 85% to 98% depending on the circle and category. If you were not selected in the second list, don't lose hope—India Post typically releases a 3rd and even 4th Merit List to fill seats left vacant by candidates who do not complete the DV process.

Congratulations to all the newly shortlisted candidates! Be sure to double-check your allotted division and prepare your documents well in advance of the April 27 deadline.
