Promotion Policy & Next Steps

For classes 3 to 8, the Delhi government follows a promotion policy focused on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE).

  • Primary Classes (3–5): Most students are promoted based on foundational learning and internal assessment

  • Middle Classes (6–8): Promotion is based on a combination of internal assessments (20%) and annual examinations (80%).

New Academic Session: Most Delhi government schools are scheduled to begin the new academic session on April 1, 2026. Students who have successfully cleared their exams should prepare for book distribution and new class schedules starting next week.
