Delhi shouldn't be given full statehood: BJP's Manoj Tiwari

Defeat BJP to avenge demonetisation, Kejriwal tells UP

SC declines to quash defamation case against Kejriwal

New Delhi: In a set-back to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed his petition seeking the quashing of criminal defamation proceedings against him initiated by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Kejriwal in his plea contended that Jaitley has also filed a civil suit in the Delhi High Court.

Three soldiers killed in Assam ambush, MHA monitoring situation

New Delhi/Guwahati: At least three soldiers were killed when militants fired at an army convoy in Assam's Tinsukia district early on Saturday morning.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal after the militant attack at Pengeri around 5.30 a.m. and said his ministry was closely monitoring the situation.

Life returns to Kashmir after four months of closure

Srinagar: After 132 days of closure, the Kashmir Valley burst into life on Saturday morning with a large number of vehicles out on the roads, and markets, schools, offices and businesses open for the first time after months of separatist-sponsored shutdown and violent protests.

Shoppers thronged Srinagar markets in large numbers even as demonetisation inconvenienced people in the Kashmir Valley where the November 8 surprise announcement had had little or no effect because businesses and other activities were closed since mid-July.

TN Governor calls on Jayalalithaa, says she's getting better

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Acting Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao on Saturday called on ailing Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa at the Apollo Hospital here, where she is admitted since September 22 for treatment.

After visiting the Chief Minister in her hospital room and asking after her health, Rao told the media that the AIADMK leader was getting better.
