'Sting Ring' is here to secure women against crimes

Bangalore: Beware of assaulting women, as a Karnataka pharmacist has devised a protective ring to sting an attacker like a honey bee.

"The gruesome (Dec 16) gang-rape in New Delhi last year prompted me to devise a safety ring that can be worn by women on their right index finger to defend themselves against a potential rapist or killer," device inventor Imran Khan said.

Fitness evolving, outdoor training catching demand

New Delhi: Nupur Shikhare, fitness consultant and personal trainer to actress Sushmita Sen, filmmaker Kiran Rao and superstar Aamir Khan, says awareness about various exercises has increased and more and more people are taking to outdoor training.

The former national level tennis player has turned into a fitness expert.

"Fitness has evolved a lot in the last few years. People are aware of different kind of workouts and there are a lot of options to choose from," Shikhare, who believes that workouts are not only about losing weight, but also to get a good well-toned body, said.

Delhi women run on streets to spread breast cancer awareness

New Delhi: Around 2,500 women from all age groups Sunday took part in a 10-km run in the national capital to spread awareness about breast cancer.

Women from corporates, colleges, social clubs as well as doctors and nurses participated in the Pinkathon, a multi-category running event for women held annually to spread awareness of women's fitness and about breast cancer.

New Delhi: International socialite Paris Hilton, who attended Indian designer duo Shane and Falguni Peacock's show at the ongoing New York Fashion Week (NYFW), says their line was full of "incredible" designs.
