Court allows Kodnani to call Amit Shah as witness in riot case

Ahmedabad: A special court hearing the 2002 Naroda Gam massacre case here today allowed an application filed by former BJP MLA Maya Kodnani seeking to call BJP president Amit Shah and 13 others as defence witnesses to prove she was not present at the scene of the incident.

Judge P B Desai said that summons should be issued to these witnesses "at appropriate and relevant stage of trial".

NDA partners hail PM Modi, vow to win 2019 Lok Sabha polls under him

New Delhi: Setting their sight on the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, top NDA leaders today pledged to work unitedly to win a second term under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asserted his "strong" leadership was required for India's progress.

Leaders of 33 NDA constituents also adopted a resolution endorsing Modi's leadership and his government's policies, while resolving to strengthen the alliance by expanding its base, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told reporters.

Akhilesh junks PM's claim of ISI role in Kanpur train mishap

Ghazipur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today rubbished Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claim of ISI hand in Kanpur train accident and alleged that the BJP is used to seek votes by misguiding people.

"Our railway minister could not take care of Kanpur tracks and gave false report to the prime minister that ISI had damaged the tracks. I want to say that the incident took place in UP, at least I should have been informed about this... But no information... no truth in it," he said at an election rally here.
