The economic risks of India’s wealth inequality

Economic inequality has been a popular topic for analysis, commentary, and political debate over the last several years, lately garnering attention even from the Pope. Recent data have elicited yet more concern. The top 1% of wealthy individuals in the world now own more than then next 99%; the top 0.1% own more than the bottom 90%.

When examining inequality on the country level, the GINI index reveals that those with high income inequality are not only advanced economies but also resource-dependent laggards.

A step towards Good Governance

"Governance" consists of  traditions and institutions by which authority in a country is exercised. This includes the process by which governments are selected, monitored and replaced; the capacity of the government to effectively formulate and implement sound policies; and the dignity of citizens and the state for the institutions that govern economic and social chemistry among them.

Each government consider themselves as most transparent and equality based governance with full of egalitarian choices.

Private Sector and Rural Development

Up until very recently, India’s planners had consistently assumed implicitly that rural development and poverty alleviation can mostly be carried out by the various levels of the Central and State Governments and that the private sector can make only very limited contributions.

However, evidences from all over the world, including India indicate that private sector can make important contributions as well.

Union government should take corrective measures to ensure uniform time-zone  

It refers to a North-East Rising Conclave organised by a media-group held on 18.11.2015 at Hotel Le Meridien (New Delhi) where several Union Ministers talked about importance of eight north-eastern states of the country. 

It is time for Central government to accept most genuine demand of north-eastern zone for advancing time-zone of the country because of early sunrise and sunset in that part of the country.

Central government rightly thinking raising retirement-age of High Court judges

It refers to Attorney General of India mentioning in Supreme Court that Central government is considering raising retirement-age of High Court judges to 65 years to be at par with that of Supreme Court judges.

Step will be in right direction to effectively check lobbying by some High Court judges for elevation to Supreme Court.
