Goa railway station plays live music to greet passengers

Everything in Goa is all about chillllll…. even their railway stations. 

It is for sure that you will find an unhealthy atmosphere (from travellers to hawkers to garbage) at any railways stations wherever you go in India. But at the Madgaon station in south Goa has a live band waiting to greet passengers.

The Konkan Railways started this unique venture to make the traveler experience better.

Model promises to strip if Pak beat India in World T20

Mumbai: Pakistani model-actress Qandeel Baloch has promised to do exactly the same thing which Indian model Poonam Pandey had promised in 2011.

Baloch has said that she will strip dance if Pakistan defeats India in ICC World T20 on March 19.

“If Pakistan beats India in the match scheduled on March 18, I will strip dance for the country and will dedicate the dance to our captain Shahid Afridi,” she said in a video shared on Facebook.

Shocking! Chinese couple sells newborn to buy iPhone

Beijing: A Chinese couple sold their new-born daughter online to buy an iPhone and a motorbike with the funds.

The father of the child, A Duan, sold his 18-day-old daughter for $3,530 on the social media site QQ, while the child's mother also supported the man's decision saying they did not know it was illegal, People's Daily online reported on Tuesday.

The couple, however, has been sent behind the bars by a Chinese court for 3 years for their inhuman act.

Five key lessons about women & work in India

While marginally more women work in India than in Pakistan (27 percent and 25 percent, respectively), Pakistan’s female labour-force participation rate is growing and India’s is declining. The percentage of women working in Bangladesh is three times higher than in India, which ranks last among BRICS countries in terms of women’s labour-force participation -- among G-20 countries, it is second to last, behind only Saudi Arabia.

Why might this be? In the South Asian context, on International Women’s Day, our analysis of the state of women and work in India does not offer clear explanation.

India’s second longest cable bridge to be build in Goa

New Delhi: DilipBuildcon Limited (DBL) one of the leading private sector road-focused, Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) in India, has bagged a  contract worth INR 545.40 crores from MORTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways), Government of India.

The order is to build a 640 meter-long eight-lane cable-stayed bridge across the Zuari River in Goa.

'Dead' woman wakes up during funeral, breaks fast & dies again

Bhopal: A 95-year-old woman in Kumhar Mohalla in Madhya Pradesh’s Sheopur was declared dead after her family members found her lying lifeless on her bed.

The family of the woman, identified as Hirabai Prajapati, was mourning her loss only to discover that she was alive.
